Will financial aid award me any money even though I had a previous problem with them?

In the school year of fall 2004 - spring 2005 I was awarded some money from financial aid to cover my community college expenses. Now I am going back to school and I already paid for my classes this semester. In the past I left school during the spring semester which cause me to have a debt with the school and financial aid as well. Everything is paid off now, but my question is: if I do apply for financial aid this year, will they give me any money?
It was not a student loan. It was money awarded to me that I never have to pay back. I think I said it before, I allready payed for my classes but money is tight and I am wondering if I can apply for this grant again to help me cover books and such.
