financial aid
Erin B asked:

I’m planning to possibly move out of my family home and move in with my boyfriend. Of course that means my mom would no longer be paying for my education. I would have to get a full time job, but I may want to take a class or two on the side. I should definitely be able to get financial aid since I would be going from a $200,000 household income to a $15,000 household income. But I’m just not sure if financial aid is even an option if I just want to go to school parttime.

Like if my parents make about $ 37,000 a year, do I still qualify for financial aid.

When a student gets selected for verification, what’s to stop someone from submitting a fake tax return? The financial aid offices don’t have access to IRS information. Also, if someone is a single parent and earns about $50,000 a year will financial aid be drastically reduced if the income was $11,000 the previous year?

What if your under 24- living with your parents and together they make ok money you have a full time job $10.00 with 2 other kids in the household. However, they are in a lot of debt owe people money, have bad credit and the 3 of us together are living paycheck to paycheck- will the financial aid office care- or do they just care about the whole taxes return thing? I really want to go to school full time but I cant afford it.

I’m a junior in high school and I want to go to SMU.
Its costs about $40,000 a year.
There is no way my parents can pay all of that.
Financial aid is so confusing to me.
How much does a college offer in financail aid?
And what about grants? How does someone go about getting one?
Please help!
Thanks!

He or she is a citizen but their parents are illegal so they can give any income tax, how can they receive financial aid?

Please no hate comments or ignorant comments because this is a shame that a smart student may not be able to get financial aid cuz their parents are illegal.

My son-in-law will be getting out of the Marines this summer after 4 years, and will be doing 4years inactive duty. Is there anyone out there who knows what is available for him in financial aid? From what I read about the GI bill online, I’m not even sure he’ll be eligible for that.
