I want to apply for financial aid but I heard that if you apply in January, I can usually get more because it’s a different department. Like if I apply now I’m getting aid from my current college but if I apply in January I’ll get aid from the government. Can someone please tell me more information.

I am currently attending the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I am paying my tuition costs with nothing but student loans, and with a cost of about $22,000 a year, I am going to be poor when I graduate. Does anyone have any good advice on how I can receive ANY kind of financial aid to help me out, whether it be scholarships, grants, anything. Thanks.

I was offered loans for this semester, but am only taking one class. Does anyone know if I can use those loans in summer if I am taking the minimum hourly requirement? I am planning on calling the Financial Aid Office tomorrow, but I am curious tonight.

Im planning on going to school this March and I am applying for FAFSA. What are the requirments in order to qualify? Me and my husband don’t make that much less than $26,000 in 2007. It seems like they don’t help out married couples. I tried to get financial aid almost 2 years ago and they said we made too much money. I don’t understand all this. Any advise?

I am planning on transfering to a school far away from where I am currently living and I can’t afford to pay for a place on my own. I was wondering if Financial Aid and the Stafford loan put housing like a studio apartment into consideration.

In the school year of fall 2004 - spring 2005 I was awarded some money from financial aid to cover my community college expenses. Now I am going back to school and I already paid for my classes this semester. In the past I left school during the spring semester which cause me to have a debt with the school and financial aid as well. Everything is paid off now, but my question is: if I do apply for financial aid this year, will they give me any money?
It was not a student loan. It was money awarded to me that I never have to pay back. I think I said it before, I allready payed for my classes but money is tight and I am wondering if I can apply for this grant again to help me cover books and such.

I owe almost $3500 in financial aid? I am thinking of applying to another college, but I am worried that I won’t get any financial aid since I already owe. Eventually, I will pay back my financial aid, but I was wondering is there a limit to the amount of financial aid you can receive?

I just need to know- does the amount of financial aid you would receive as a single person suddenly get cut in half if you’re married?

Is there financial aid that doesn’t need to be paid back? If so which? …Like Gov. aid, does that need to be paid back? I want to pay for college with out getting myself to far into debt, if its possible.
On the government grants such as fafsa is there a maximum about that can be given? Then I am planning on transferring next fall does that play any part in getting aid??
Are you limited to the amount of grants you can apply for?

I am going to a small private couture school abroad and US financial aid does not work with that school. My tuition is being paid for by the school but I still need financial aid to afford the numerous supplies that I am going to need as well as daily living expenses. Are there any student loans for people in my position?
